Eric A. LehmannHello and welcome to my web page!
I am a research scientist/engineer with a degree in Electrical Engineering from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETHZ). I was also awarded a Master's Degree and a Ph.D. for my research in the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology (FEIT) and the Research School of Information Sciences and Engineering (RSISE), respectively, at the Australian National University (ANU) in Canberra, Australia. After having worked as Research Engineer on the Audio Tracking Project with National ICT Australia Ltd (NICTA, now part of CSIRO's Data61 Business Unit), I held a post-doctoral position for three years with the Western Australian Telecommunications Research Institute (WATRI) in Perth, Australia (within the Faculty of Engineering and Computing, Curtin University of Technology, Perth). As part of my work at WATRI, I was involved in the Last Metre Problem (LaMP) research project carried out in collaboration with, and partly funded by NICTA. A significant part of my career so far (Master's, Ph.D. and Post-Doc) was focussed on acoustics and Bayesian methods (sequential Monte Carlo), with significant research work carried out on various aspects of microphone array processing, acoustic beamforming, and acoustic source localisation and tracking. Have a look at this page for a brief overview of some of this work. I am now involved with the development of image processing and (Bayesian) data fusion techniques for a number of environmental monitoring applications using synthetic aperture radar and optical remote sensing data, among others. My current employment is as a Research Scientist for the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO), within the Remote Sensing and Image Integration team of the Data61 business unit (also formerly known as Digital Productivity Flagship; CSIRO Computational Informatics, CCI; CSIRO Mathematics, Informatics & Statistics, CMIS; and CSIRO Mathematical & Information Sciences, CMIS) in Canberra, Australian Capital Territory. Information about some of the projects I am currently working on (or have been involved with) at CSIRO can be found here. This simple web site aims to provide some basic information about who I am and what I do. Please feel free to contact me directly if you would like more specific information about me or my work. Thanks for visiting! I hope you find these few pages interesting and useful... |
